So you detached your Glidelock from the Bracelet and used it on he Rubber B? Was that easy to do? I would like to have a separate clasp to use and leave the bracelet intact. Wonder if they are available to purchase.

There's nothing really difficult about doing it as long as you have a good pair of glasses and the correct screwdriver. The first time I had the AD do it for me since the clasp had never been off of the bracelet and I knew the loctite would stick. But after that it's pretty easy and straight forward.

They probably do sell the clasp separately but it will cost way more than it's worth. If you don't want to deal with moving the clasp back and forth you can always just buy the pin buckle version of the strap.

Thanks for your response. I'm also 7.5in. So being in between M and L, did you go loose glidelock setting and if L, use tighter glidelock setting?

I'll try to post a picture later for you, but all it comes down to is how much of the strap you want tucked into the clasp. I have enough room to slide the glide lock in and out but the end of the link, where the end of the strap attaches to, is slightly visible where I wear it. It can still go further out (looser) and a LOT further in (tighter) if I choose.

Both M and L should work for a 7.5" wrist. I bought mine used so I didn't have a choice in sizes, but the M worked out fine for me. If you are really concerned about not having any of the attachment point visible you can just get a L. But like I said I kind of prefer it this way since it balances out the other end where the attachment point is always visible.

Here are some pictures that may make it easier to explain. You can see I have plenty of room to adjust the glidelock in either direction, but a lot more in the tighter direction. The attachment point at the end of the strap is just a tiny bit visible at the end of the clasp. If you get a L it will be hidden well under the clasp. But you can sort of see what I mean about it balancing out the attachment point on the other end, so I kind of prefer it this way.

Actually, to Schnaps’ comment, do you all have a sense of how hard it is to get an SD43 from an AD? Are they relatively available with a ‘short’ wait, or are they difficult? Perhaps you can compare level of difficulty to an Explorer II (black dial) or a Submariner.

I would say its a bit harder to get the SD43 compared to Expy and Sub when discussin with a couple of ADs.

This because they get in less SD43 pro year compred to Subs.

But from a wild guess, it maybe eaiser to get on their waitlist with SDs, still the game ahead though.

I know the love that most have for the SD4000 (even compared to the Submariner it seems), but I don’t see the same enthusiasm for the SD43. It may be because of the similarities to the new Sub, or because everyone bought the previous version, not sure.

I think you’ll find that in general the SD43 and the DSSD are “niche” professional models.

Not that there isn’t any love, it’s just that they appeal to fewer people for various reasons (size, weight, etc).

Just joined the SD43 club a month ago. It was my first watch from an AD. Tried it with a black rubberB strap but went back to the stainless steel, but love the black & red NATO.

The size seemed perfect for my 7.5” wrist & comparable to my Titanium Omega Planet Ocean GMT.

My 17 month old SD43 which kept track of time really well during that time started to lose 2+s/d (but less than 3+s/d) recently. I know the 3235 cal is notorious as I also have a DJ41 (which never really kept track of time from the start) but it's strange that the SD43 ran so well for 17 months and suddenly started to lose time.

It's not had any accidental knocks, but the only possible difference I can think of is that I've been wearing some magnetic necklaces (for blood circulation/neck relief, etc.). I'm aware that the use of the anti-magnetic Parachrom hairspring, but aside from that, are the other components in the 3235 calibre susceptible to magnetism?

I didn't know that the 3235 was "notorius" and compared to my 3135 1660 SD, it's quite impressive at keeping COSC specs.

Having said that... mine was keeping perfect time for the first three years of ownership but now also loses about 1sec/day. I'd hoped for five years of perfect time keeping but I know that "YMMV" applies to all watches from all companies with very few exceptions...


As for the slim chance of having magnetized the watch, from my experience, magnetized watches tend to run fast...
