Newbie with an old Rolex

Hello all. I inherited my first Rolex - 1966 Datejust Turn-O-Graph from my father in law. I just got it back from it's overhaul (needed new crystal as well as some other work) and I'm thrilled. I have no intention of selling my watch, but instead will be handing it down to my son (who's only 5 months old now) when he's old enough to appreciate it (or when I pass on). My only concern is, I don't have any of the original documentation or box. Any help pointing me in the right direction to make sure my Rolex has everything it needs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for having me here!

Your best bet is to do your homework and identify the exact vintage box for your model and then go hunting on ebay.

You will not be able to get the original warranty certificate but you may be able to similarly to the box find the relevant booklet for the watch.

Good luck, the hunt is a lot of fun and you will learn a lot along the way

Welcome
To implement Steve's good advice, get the serial number and check it's general manufacturing date on the Internet. http://www.minus4plus6.com/numbers.htm There are also several good reviews about Vintage Datejusts here on TRF.

Then post in the WTB section that you want a period correct Rolex box and Datejust manual and begin hunting on eBay. There are many experts here who specialize in Vintage and you can create a post there to gather as much knowledge from the community.

But first and foremost - post those beautiful pics!
