Panerai 393

I've been looking at this for a few weeks now and seriously thinking it could be my next watch. What do you think? My wrist is 6 5/8 so 42mm seems about as large as I can go. Is it too thick? Should I look at something else from the brand? It would be my first Panerai. Grateful for any and all opinions.

It's nice but i would start off with a base dial of some sort personally and not gold. But to each his own. Also the 45mm rad wears small. You should be fine. Have you tried one on in person?

it's a nice looking piece for sure, if you want a gold panerai.

i would say, however, that the 1950s case is quite chunky and top heavy. maybe okay with SS, but, for gold, i would want something a little thinner. as such, and in consideration of your overal size concern, i would look at the 513, 573, 231 or 439 (especially the 513).
