Water marks on ceramic planet ocean bezel! Need advice
Hi guys,
I've owned my planet ocean for around 2-3 months now and have noticed some marks on the bezel. In my opinion it looks like some kind of grease had got on there and has been rubbed. No matter what I do it won't come off. I've tried washing up liquid and all kind of soaps. Any advice guys? I'm a little concerned !! In the pics it's around the 30 mark all at the bottom and up the side by 50. Cheers, Olly ImageUploadedByTapatalk1441467624.563179.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1441467643.499338.jpg |

It does look like there are some stained blotches on the bezel. I'm not sure how pourous the matt ceramic is as opposed to the polished ceramic bezels but if it cannot be removed it may be either a defect from new or something has soaked in... not sure if that is possible.
I would take it to an Omega AD or Boutique, as it is only a few months old your warranty should cover it. Good luck. |

I think some type of chemical staining. I think a trip to the AD might be a good idea to see what they say. I seriously doubt you have a legit warranty issue, but they might know what chemistry to use to remove it w/o harming the insert.

Try rubbing some toothpaste with a cloth (not gel but proper paste).

I agree, if you have a Boutique near by it may be worth the trip. When I owned my PO 8500, before flipping it for the older 2500 brother, someone on the forum gave me a tip for light scratches. They suggested using a soft pencil eraser to take out light imperfections on the bezel and it worked great. Try using a soft pencil eraser and rub very gently and see if that helps? |

Interesting. If you do take it into a boutique then be sure to let us know what they say

Well a bit of an update, the rubber trick kind of works, it moves the marks but doesn't remove it :(

Shouldn't harm it. If the silicone lubricant used to lubricate the bezel seeped up that stuff can be a pain to clean without some solvent. Wet a cotton swab and try wiping the bezel. Otherwise, a proper omega boutique should have a eraser type tool too clean up the ceramic bezel.

I would try an all purpose cleaner or a mild degreaser.
