16750 Bezel Rotate/Turning Resistance

Greetings,

Quick Q on the turning resistance of the rotating bezel on my 16750.

Bottom line is that it turns too freely. I know on my old 1675 you had to push down then turn the bezel.

Shouldn't this be the case with the 16750 as well?

I have popped the bezel off and I there is a thin metal ring under the bezel/between the case and bezel. That's it.

Should there be an additional part beyond this that would add more tension and require pushing down on bezel in order to turn it like on the 1675?

The thin metal ring is the spring. Google "rolex bezel tension ring" and you will see how it is supposed to look. Yours might be too flat?

My 1675 turns with the same pressure as my 16750.

Thanks all....Yea, mine looks just the same as ones pictures for sale/on the web. It just may be flattened out. I'll have it fixed when it's service time.

They are supposed to be flat..did keep the click spring when you opened it?

Hey steviebeat- not sure the plastic GMTs had the click spring...I can tell you that mine just had the flat thin washer type ring between bezel and case and nothing else.

OK I think you are right, I never dealt with the vintage GMTs too often. But the ring thing is supposed to be flat. Maybe its moving easily because its not flat or because its bent the other way so if you put it back in with the bendy bit facing up it would create more friction.

Neither one had the click spring and the ring is flat. Maybe, you got some grit under the bezel. I have had that problem before.
