116613LB Sunburst TO 116618LB Sunburst. Would You?

Hi All,

Now I know you *can't* answer this for me, but I'd like to get your honest opinions for what YOU would do. I purchased a 116613LB Sunburst new in 2014 and love it! I wear it probably 30% of the year, and JUST added an AP 15400 Ruthenium to the "collection". I have ALWAYS eye-balled the 116618 and LOVE all gold but LOVE two-tone. Just looks nice. Each have their use for sure, but don't see the need to have 2 similar watches hence the AP addition.

I got offered $10k for mine as a trade, PLUS $15k for a swap.

SO.. I'd like to hear it from you! Would you make the jump to the 116618LB Sunburst, or just keep the 116613?

About me:
31 M
San Diego
Self Employed
Wearing habits - Casual, going out, car gatherings/events, fun events, travel, etc.
Rarely have business meetings in person
$15k does not hurt, but not buying for status, I just truly love both and always have.

I would love your honest opinions!

- Justin

I made the jump to the 116618 Sunburst. If you can do the deal for 25k (new?) that is a good deal in this current climate. Full PM is hard to beat. You will love it.

The 116618 is pre-owned, but like new. Box and papers dated 2017 I believe.

seems like its a good deal. those small scratches can be easily removed but just check if the bracelet has too much of a stretch. otherwise its cool.

If you can do it, I would ...
I have the TT Bluesy and hope to get the Full PM one day myself.

I would upgrade, although I would be more inclined to spend a little more and get unworn.

Why is that? I mean it's a year old, mine is 2014. If it looks nice, what can be the negative? Buying unworn would mean close to 30k, no?

I would.

But I bought my 116618LB almost five years ago without having the TT Bluesy before.

There's no real negative, as long as the watch is as listed and is running well. I just have a thing where I want all wear on a watch to be my own. The exception would be if it's a discontinued piece that is only sourceable worn.

There's a fully stickered 116618LB on DavidSW listing for $27,975. If I was already looking at $25k for worn, I don't see <$28k for unworn being that much worse, especially if there's room to negotiate. (I don't know if there is.)

I'm not advising against your deal. I'm just expressing my own preferences and suggesting you consider all options before committing to a trade.

I went from 1 116613 Diamond to the 116618 Diamond and I am very happy with my decision. All gold feels great on the wrist!

Natural progression. I would do it. I plan to do the exact same move at some point in the future. Sounds like a fair deal.

Deal is not bad. Fair deal as long as the watch you are getting is prefect. It better be for the money.

I didn't even know there was a diamond version! This changes everything I don't mean to hijack this thread but does the diamond version come with the sunburst dial?

The diamond dial was the older flat blue dial. No sunburst with diamonds.

Agree with others......Check condition of PCL’s , case, etc.....if you’re comfortable with the seller....it’s a great move

100% if you can do it I would. Is the 116618LB brand new?

$25k for a BNIB is a good price for todays market.

I love both watches. And I could happily exist with the TT if the full gold model was not attainable, for some reason.

For me, it's a question of what other PM is in the collection and what kind of fiscal ceiling is in play. If there's room in both for a full gold, I'm doing it. If not, I'm not, and as I said above, no biggie.

In terms of your actual deal, I think you're getting a fair deal for sure, if you're confident with the condition of the watch.

Make the switch. You won't regret it (at least I wouldn't).
The 116618 + the AP RO would make for an amazing pair.

As long as condition as described, go for it. 25K is reasonable in this climate.

I agonized over a similar situation. Loved the two tone but ultimately the full PM is way more awesome! I did it and am exceedingly happy...

Keep in mind, watch is supposed to be 24K. So you are actually getting 9K for your watch, which is fair. They can also give your 11K for your watch with 26K for the gold one.

would you/could you/should you.. hmm.. I'd like to, but still other things I could do with a spare £12k.. maybe when the mortgage is paid off etc.. I'm just not in that league (owning a £22000 watch).

Neither are we. We just go hungry and our kids wear old shoes so we can buy watches
