The sublime Day-date...

Going on two years of ownership now and this watch continues to put a smile on my face! :) I think downsizing from the 41 a couple years ago has made this watch perfectly proportioned for daily wear. I can’t say enough about the president bracelet, so elegant and comfortable on the wrist. I’m a huge fan of the rose gold version also, but the white gold makes this piece a little more under the radar, allowing me to wear daily to work. And the olive green sunburst dial is a chameleon, changing tones with the light and angles. I was foolish to trade it away last year for a Patek 5960p, but was lucky my dealer had not sold it and I was able to buy it back. Won’t make that mistake again! Cheers everyone!

Best,
Tom

An absolute beauty, goes well with the Porsche!

Love the DD tried on a rose gold special edition green dial myself and was mesmerized by its class quality and of course that President bracelet.

Indeed. As did the OP, I traded one of the early Day Dates (acrylic crystal) for a Patek Annual Calendar several years ago but never really attached to it. Missing my old watch, I couldn't resist the latest one.

Oh my the DD40..... I do wonder if this is not THE Rolex. It seems to me the quality is just so, so much more. However.... I spend most days wondering if (and let’s be honest, when) I buy a DD whether I will go for yellow, white, rose gold or platinum. I kind of want them all....

The WG is indeed a great daily watch.

Haven't worn mine that much but AD called today and said my 1 1/4 link has arrived so hopefully will get more wrist time this week.

I think you will find it makes a world of difference...it completely transformed the fit on mine to one of the most comfortable watches I own.

OP: Great watch!

Thanks! It came out in 2015 in either rose or white gold and with a green dial to commemorate the 60th anniversary the Prez!

Porsche and Rolex go quite nicely together! As for the president bracelet, its second to none in my book =)

Couldn't agree with you more, it's clean handsome looks, comfort, weight, and heritage...THE Rolex indeed.

Ah once you have it sized correctly there will be no doubt and no looking back! Pics when you get it back on your wrist!

Enjoy it. That combo exudes class without being in your face. I'll add that a watch really standing out isn't always a bad thing either in appropriate circumstances like a summer BBQ or ocean front restaurant deck.

Love the White gold/green dial. I have a WG DayDate II with chocolate/root beer dial which I wear daily in rotation with others. The green and chocolate dial both exhibit the same chameleon effect depending how the light hits them.

Thanks for sharing that beautiful watch. The green dial is sublime. I actually had that green dial on my Oyster Perpetual 34, which I do regret selling. My AD has the DD40 in the same configuration as your's, and it really is a stunner! I couldn't believe how comfortable that President bracelet is. Smooth as silk to handle.

That excellent photo really brings out the true essence of that watch. Looks much better in the light of day, than in the display case with all the stickers on!

I can't say enough good things about that Day-Date 40. Congratulations!

Cheers,
Carl
