Got Call after 1 week

Hello, First post here.

I've been on waiting lists at two ADs for a SS Submariner Date for about 8 months for a graduation gift. I missed my train the other night so had 25 minutes to kill and popped into one of them to check status. There was a new manager and it was their first day on the job. I told them what i was looking for and they took all my info. I got a call one week later and the watch came in and they called me first. Picked it up yesterday.

Is this super weird or are things starting to open up?

A Few people have been getting their hands on the SS subs, can't say if it's an increase in particular AD stock or random chance. Congrats on the watch!

Good the more ppl that get their watches from ADs the better.

Hard to make money on flips now so the market is changing. Better for the REAL watch lovers not so good for the flippers.

I think the flippers are still doing just fine, there is so much demand that this latest sub delivery is a drop in the bucket.

Congrats op, the sub is a fine choice.

A friend asked me to help him get a sub as his AD said they have too many names on their list, one month later they called him with a no date sub.

Congrats- I got a sub date after only a few months in 2020 as well.

I think if you live in the right place it's becoming easier to get these pieces than the multi-year waitlist shenanigans you keep hearing about in places like the UK, Singapore, HK, and other affluent metropolitan areas.

Maybe they are "opening the floodgates" a little bit more now, I've seen 3 new pepsi incomings in the last 24 hours- I know that its a small sample size on the forums but deliveries might be increasing for SS Pro models across the board.

So that Daytona on OF that you have, did your AD have in stock or did they special order it for you. I am still relatively new to Rolex and I will be buying a RG YM on OF from an AD I have never done business with before. I know that is not as popular as the Daytona, but I am concerned if they can order that or not. I have read that PM watches could be special ordered (with a few exceptions). Sorry to highjack thread.

OP Congrats on the pickup!

congrats!

Unlike other hot models, black Sub date/dssd and expII are relatively more available. I encountered them a few times after 2018 in different ADs
