Realistic waiting for explorer 1 in US
Anyone have any idea? AD won’t give me a timeframe but we have bought watches prior. Wanted to see how long others have waited

Over past 2 years prob seen 4-5 explorers 1s and 2-3 polar dial explorer 2s at our 2 local ADs. These have all made it to the case without being already allocated to a client. When I finally decided to buy explorer 1 and asked AD to contact me I only waited for a few weeks until one arrived. Purchased 2-3 weeks ago. Luckily I am in smaller market. Still difficult to find other sport models. Currently trying to decide about explorer 2 if I get another chance...

Maybe I got lucky but got one with a ~3 month wait time and no purchase history. Very glad I purchased it

Absolutely realistic. One came through my local AD about two weeks ago.

No idea about the US, but here in Finland the wait times for an Explorer I (214270) are several years long and most ADs don't even take new names to their "waitlists."
Judging by the replies here it seems things are a bit better there.

I have been on two waitlists since Sept 1st - the day I found out the OP39 was discontinued. I check in every now and then and get the same response - they have no idea when anything is coming in. It's frustrating but I'm trying to be patient.

I would imagine it would be under 6 months for a repeat customer, probably less than that. I’d personally draw a line in the sand; if it comes before then go AD but otherwise just go grey.
