Datejust 41mm 123600 vs panerai 1320

Somebody made me a straight exchange offer for my day just 41mm. His watch is a 2020 mine is a 2019 both used which watch has the greatest value and is that a fair deal please give me your opinions

Hard to say without pics, but the trade value of a 126300 is likely more than a Panerai.

That PAM is a cool piece, but that’s a bad trade.

Edit: purely on value. I think you’d be shorting yourself $1-1.5k potentially.

I think in the long run the Rolex will hold value way better than the Pam. Its a cool watch but they seem way easier to get.

Horrible trade

1-2k difference seems like the Panerai you can get for 7500. Your DJ going for a lot more.

He made you this offer because it’s a very good offer for him. I love Panerai and Rolex but the Rolex is a better store of value. Panerai are unlike Rolex in that you can find them pre-owned quite readily and at less than retail, something quite novel after years of owning Rolex. Just buy a Panerai if you want one and keep the Rolex. And in addition I greatly dislike the blue small seconds hand.

I’d say it’s fair.

The PAM goes for in and around around 10k (CDN for a full set). You might be able to get that privately for your DJ but things aren’t always as they seem and trying sell a watch privately without any previous sales often leads to low ball bids and other pitfalls.

An alternative is to reach out the one of the trusted sellers here and make a trade

It depends on which one you like it better.

If you no longer like DateJust and love to have Panerai, it's worth it.

For long term I think Rolex retain better value.

Look at the classified section to get an idea but your DJ is about $1.5k-$2k more

Guess I don’t know enough about Panerai. They tend to be on the large size for me, and while a few that I’ve seen are appealing, not enough to trade one of my Rolex’s.
