Aftermarket bands/clasps
I've been reading through some of the threads/posts on aftermarket bands and I have a question. I have seen numerous aftermarket bands offered on E Bay. I was wondering about the "Rolex" clasps I have seen on some of these bands. Are the clasps authentic "Rolex" put on aftermarket bands or are the clasps fake? If so, why is E Bay and Rolex allowing the sale of copyright infringed products? Thanks!

Hi Moevette,
First a big welcome to TRF In many cases the clasps are fake, its fairly rare that an authentic clasp would be attached, unless the seller stipulated just that, its easy to check with the reference numbers on the folding part of the clasp and when an authentic clasp is used but again its up to the seller to notify potential buyers that this is the case. As for Rolex and eBay allowing the sales, its fairly hard to monitor every listing as there are tens of thousands listed every day, thats where we step in and have a good go at making the marketplace just that bit safer for buyers and sellers. Dave.
