Anyone else seen Ellen DeGeneres watch collection......

I know she is a huge watch enthusiast, and I would love to see her on Hodinkee's talking watches. She is always wearing different Rolex or Patek on her show. Last few weeks I keep checking and it's usually a different flavor of precious metal Daytona's. I believe she also has some vintage pieces as well.

I feel like some celebrities don’t like the idea of showing off wealth and that’s why they shy away from it. Seinfeld is also a small collector I think and I’d like to see what he has. I recall a story where he was first drawn to Breguet and has good taste overall.

The old watch and listen interviews/videos are pretty good for low budget production chat.

Someone asked James May to share his watch collection online and he said no. I was bummed about that. I wanted to know what his collection was like. From what I’ve read he was a Mido guy then got a white dial Milgauss. I like his taste.

Some people are shy about talking about their clothing/style choices because they don’t wanna be seen as ignorant. Like someone who fancies themself a smart and stylish person talking about their MVMT because it’s a pretty orange color. So I get that.

Seinfeld was always Breitling and Porsche(car)…….I’ve seen him in a chronomat and a Navitimer……don’t know if he has upgraded since but that was a decade or more ago……

I've definitely noticed her wearing the white gold and blue dial Daytona recently as well a yellow gold full champagne dial. Also the brown dial 5711

Not sure why; however, I have no interest in seeing her collection.

I'm sure her collection is awesome, but to be honest I'm not really interested.

I've noticed they often interview people who have a lot of money. It makes sense that they're in the luxury watch game.

I'd be interested to see what's in the collection of a middle class watchmaker, or like a not-so-rich but interesting person. See what they collected and valued over the years besides the same ol Rolex, Patek, AP over and over.

Seeing these pieces in her collection dramatically lowers my interest in them.* Same thing happened when Ryan Seacrest was on TV wearing a BLRO.

*: (although I do admit the platinum DD is extremely elegant and supremely sophisticated, would never lose interest in that model)

So you guys don't appreciate the fact they have a passion for watches just like all of us? Sure they may be celebrities and have a lot more endless funds, but I still enjoy the fact she is choosing those watches. She obviously has been a fan for a while. I think of her in the same category as John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, Kevin Hart and others like them who enjoy many great time pieces. I always enjoy seeing these watches being worn regardless of who's wearing them.

This. Ellen has been collecting watches for 20 years plus. She’s got good taste and quite a variety, more so than many of the collections seen here. There just seems to be some “coolness factor” for some folks to denigrate celebrities.
Just to add another celeb to hate on, 25 year old Tom Holland seems to have a wide variety of watches to choose from. And to the inevitable “who’s that,” he’s been one of the busiest actors in the world since he was just a kid, perhaps best known for the last few Spiderman movies. That and the charity foundation he shares with his brothers.

I have been noticing Tom Holland’s watches as well. Last pic I saw he was wearing a white dial ceramic Daytona. I believe some Patek as well.

Pretty sure she doesn’t have to wait for AD approval to buy anything modern…

I don't like her or any of her professional stuff, but she has an insane collection and seems to be genuinely into it and I can agree with her on that.

It does say something when every watch she wears is a heavy hitter. Does she get the same feeling ordinary folks like myself get when we send off $15k for a watch when she spends $200k? Sometimes I put away the Rolex and wear a Casio; does Ellen strap on a Swatch, just for fun?

I know that this may well a shock to some people on here, but not everyone knows who all of the actors, sports people and personalities mentioned in threads are. Whilst I do know of Ellen, I had no idea who Tom Holland is so the explanation above is very helpful to me. Thank you

I do wish that when someone posts about someone 'famous' they would include a few words to explain why the person is famous. Whilst American Footballers, Basketball and Ice Hockey players, TV personalities etc. may well be very popular in the USA, they certainly are not so popular in the UK and probably Europe, so a few words explaining who some of these people are would be helpful.

I like a celb who has one watch that they have worn 24/7 for many years. THAT would be interesting interview. A celb who wears a different watch everyday would not be a true watch person.
