Icon20 Need expert advice

Hello, a friend of mine gave me this watch and told me that was serviced from Rolex in the past. He doesn't have any paperwork. I didn't pay anything for it.
I don't know anything about old Rolex watches and I need your expertise.
Is it a real one? And if it is, would be possible to fix it and is worth to do it?

May be a reference 6466 with refinished dial. Can you post a picture of the movement?

I was thinking I read 6466 too and I'd love to open it because I'm very curious, but I have to find a professional to do it.
I don't want risk to damage it. Does that model and serial number give the year and model information?

The reference number is 6466. Based on the serial number, the watch is from the mid-1960s, approximately 1964-65.

Wouldn’t that ref. # be an Oysterdate?

Yes. That's why I'm asking. Looks like an older dial was fitted

Yes dial looks too small for rehaut, to my 6466 untrained eye..

Hello, thank you for all the usable information I got from you. Now, does anybody have a pic of how this watch should look like?
I live in Florida, who can work on the watch to bring it back to his original look?
Is it the right thing to do?
Thank you again for all your help.
