hello,
Just need to know what tool you would recommend that would open the case back of a 1998 submariner? Budget is under $100. thank you |

You are better advised to look for a Bergeon tool or the genuine Rolex case opening tool. |

Make sure you check the size of the socket needed and that it's in the set you buy. I bought one of those and the largest socket is too small for my DJ41 and Sub!

A proper Rolex tool is I would have thought the way to go but that budget is questionable. Some jobs are better left to the professionals especially on a watch worth $$$

Yes I need to open the sub case back only. The correct size is 29.50 which that "yellow" box provides but it does not have enough bite.
I think I will need to updo my budget to get a quality tool. Buy once, cry once! thank you |

You can try one of those rubber balls. It might not work but you wont damage anything. Context anyway - Why do you want to get the back off.. for cheap?

The reason for opening the case is for me to look at the movement of the 3135 caliber and take some pics. In addition, I have a guest at home to whom I want to show the insides of a genuine rolex and the balance wheel and the microstella screws. Also, I am just bored! |
