214270 Spring Bars

Hi everyone,
Long time listener, first time caller....
I've seen variations of this questions asked on here and answered with varying degrees of specificity and mixed levels of certainty so I thought I'd ask this specific question:

I'm looking for curved spring bars for my 214270 explorer so I can wear it on a nato or leather sometimes.

1. What spring bars are you using?

2. What size tips (aka pivots?) should be used with this watch?

Thank you all very much.

The native spring bars on the 214270 are sufficient for either a strap or nato. It’s the 124270 where problems could arise.

I sometimes wore my Explorer 214270 on leather straps, and the original spring bars works fine.

214270 Spring Bars

Looking back on the photo library I now remember damaging the black strap with the stock bars due to the lack of room.

I ordered some bent spring bars from Toxic NATO ( now UTE straps) / Terry….. that did the job and all the other thick leather straps from my speedmaster worked without getting chewed up.
I imagine any bent spring bars will do ( 20mm )…… I only bought from toxic nato because I needed a new nato and was able to add on the bars with the free shipping.

The 214270 looked great on the Watch Steward as well.

Also try Esslinger?….. I heard they sell bent spring bars

Toxic/ UTE was the best source for spring bars. Miss that place.

Toxic himself posted this - https://www.rolexforums.com/showpost...90&postcount=5

Otto Frei has anything and everything you might need.

There's also a store on ebay called OutletGoods (https://www.ebay.com/str/outletgoods...ore_cat=170151) and they have some hard to find spring bars. Nice quality, too, from what I've seen. Ordered 5 or 6 times from them.

are the rolex springbars thicker than normal? I've put my exp 40 on an MN strap and there is 0 wiggle room to adjust the strap once it is installed vs other watches where i usually can fiddle with my fabric strap placement.

I don’t think they are thicker ….. it’s more that they are very close to the watch head, to get a better fit with less wiggle…… optimized for the bracelet.

Thanks for all the replies.
Can someone confirm that 214270 springbars have tips that are 1.2mm?
Assuming so, anyone every try bending spring bars?
MatthewP: I love your pics.
