Inherited Rolex question
My grandfather left me his Rolex and I am curious of its history. I took it to a local jeweler and found out the case and serial number. I’m not very computer savvy and looking for assistance. The case number is 8029, serial number 897118. Would appreciate some help to a website to tell me its history and value, wondering if it would be worth my money to clean and restore it. Thanks for anyone who could help me out.

Clean it and restore it because your grandfather gave it to you and he wore it and no doubt loved it ?
Yes … yes, I would trust me ..

As mentioned you need to post some photos to get an accurate assessment on what you have.

Thanks OP, the dial is a repaired/refinished/repainted dial btw, if it matters to you.
Are you sure it is stamped model no. 8029, as that is usually a quite fancy Lady Pearlmaster watch? Is the number you quoted between the top two lugs or stamped on the outer caseback please? Rgds

Ok great 8029 it is then.
These are oversized 37mm (when 32-34mm was norm), quite rare and would if original dial have a print on dial at very bottom of SWISS MADE before 1952 or SWISS if after 1952. There are quite a few on the internet if you type in 'Old Rolex 8029'. They usually had the old style winding crown like this one here btw : https://rolexpassionmarket.com/watch...recision-8029/ https://bulangandsons.eu/blogs/watch...the-rolex-8029
