GMT Master II 2024 (Bruce Wayne) in NYC

How likely am I to find this watch in NYC for my husband's birthday in May. Is there a long waiting list yet for this?

At least you've got a decent amount of time until May 2025. With that being said, it's a fresh release and most AD's have them "sold out" to clients with purchase/connection history and future spend promises. Talk to multiple and show up regularly. It will not be easy.

You can probably find availability a few grey market dealers but the odds of an authorized Rolex dealer selling you one as a first purchase is slim and none.

You could buy him a "super clone" as a place holder until about 5 years from now when you might have a chance at getting the real thing. Just make sure you tell him.

OP - go to a family owned dealer. Meet directly with the owner. Tell your story and timeline. Rolex likes when ADs reward customers for special occasions. This is your best chance. Keep us updated!

Any GMT is a hard first purchase especially a new release model from the AD. Rare?
Still try to see if they can do something, you may get lucky.

I’m sure you can find one in the diamond district 47ST.

Good luck

Only took me since 2019 to get my BLNR from an authorized dealer this past June. The one you want was recently introduced so could be awhile to get one from an AD. Good luck...

I would say the lists are long and the supply hasn’t really started flowing yet. Some ADs may not have had one yet. Do you have any relationships with an AD or do you have any friends that have an amazing AD relationship?

seconding very possible. if there's any chance in the world it's where you're at and maybe a couple other cities in the USA. talk to them, tell your story. wait. if they respond negatively, talk to other dealers.

I can basically guarantee you get one if you do two things when you go to the AD (which you have to do this or never!).

1. Be polite, cool, calm and collected while explaining the situation.
2. Buy yourself a $2k pair of earrings before you walk out. You’ve clearly earned them for this great gift for your husband.

Bet you have it by Christmas.

Easy to find on 47th. AD will be a different story.
I'd inquire with ADs and if no luck by his birthday, see where prices are settling in the grey.

You can find at the greys on 47th but zero shot from an AD without some history around here.
