15400 choice dilemma

Hi, looking for opinions on the following:

I have the option to buy an unworn 15400 with grey dial and 4 years of warranty. The other option is a 15400 blue dial from 2013, had one service in 2016. I’m only paying 2k more for the blue, and both watches come with complete with box and papers. Condition of the blue is very good, only a few scratches and bezel/screws are not flush.

What would you do?

Thanks so much for the help!

15400 choice dilemma

It all comes down to your own personal preference. For me...Go blue or go home! The $2k premium is nothing over the lifespan of the watch and is a rather good deal for a blue dial as the premium is typically higher than that. Also, $2k is a negligible difference to the point where you should just choose the dial you want as prices are so similar. Get the gray if it speaks to you.

Go with the one you want not which one is a better deal. Great watch either way. I would probably go with grey (I like unopened and have multiple blue dials already).

Always go with the one that is going to bring you the biggest smile. Personally, I would go with the blue.

What do you mean not flush? The screws on a new Royal Oak are inset to the bezel, not flush, so if that’s what you mean, that’s fine.

But if you mean the surface of the screw tops are above the bezel, then that’s not good.

Thanks a lot for the responses!! I agree that the 2k difference is not much. To be honest I had my mind set on the grey because I thought the blue would not be available in my budget range, but it is. The pictures shared here are amazing!!! All the more convincing.

Concerning the bezel and screws, the screws are clearly lower than the bezel, so there’s still life on it. I will post pictures of the watch soon. Hopefully you guys can comment on the condition.

Thanks again!
