Availability at AP ADs
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
I am pretty tired of waiting for Rolex so I wanted to set my next watch to be an AP :) And the people in this forum seem super knowledgable. I have my eyes set on either a RO or ROC and wanted to know if ADs have them generally available or am I still playing the wait list game? RO: 15500ST or 15400ST (Blue Dial), Black/Grey Dial Second Choice ROC: 26331ST (Blue Dial), Panda Dial second choice My location is in Hong Kong if it makes a difference. Appreciate any advice to acquire these beautiful pieces. |

26331 should be easier to get than a 15500, but if you’re set on blue dial for either one, there might be a bit of a wait.

ROC panda will be the easiest to acquire followed but 15500 grey, black, ROC blue, 15500 blue.
I would think with the 15400 discontinued it will be hard to find in stock new. Aside from the blue 15500 I think any could be bought as a first AP with some patience. If you must have it this year, ROC is your best bet.

From my experience here in Singapore, ROCs are much easier to get than ROs from the boutiques. Shorter waiting time overall up to a year for the ROs and 3 months for the ROCs. Last I checked a couple of weeks back AP stopped taking deposits for the 15500s here. Obviously, availability defers according to location.

I'd go for the ROC blue, most interesting watch and a 3-6 month wait depending on your status.

So I emailed a couple of ADs in HK and they mostly gave me the cold shoulder and said there were no ROC in any color in stock at the moment.
I guess I am going to have to visit the store to see for myself but I am not thinking that I am going to have much luck there this time around. Does anyone here have any luck with Wait List time for ADs in HK? |

I think emailing is useless. ADs want to sell to locals so going in person and leaving a business card to show you live/work in HK is helpful.
ROC (black or white) is easy to get in HK. Anywhere from 1week to a few months. 15500 is difficult. Without prior purchasing history with the AD they'll tell you several months for grey/black and more than a year for a blue. |

Thanks fullofboats, I see you are in HK. There are several boutiques in HK, do you have one that you recommend more than another? I was thinking about visiting the one in IFC. |

For what it’s worth, last summer in Hong Kong I could have purchased a white dial 15400 or 15450 as a new customer in one AP store and another had a white dial 15450. Things may be different this year but you’ve got plenty of stores to try your luck in. Good luck

I would not bother with ADs. Just go to one of the AP boutiques.

I have been chasing the following in the UK over the past week, AD, the general feeling is:
15500ST wait lists are closed until end 2021 now 26331ST are around 12 months No previous relationship at the place. Dupe... |

If you're serious about getting a 26331 I'd spend a day and visit every AD/boutique in HK. There are 7 all within a few km of each other. To learn more/see watches I'd go to the AP House at H Queen's. They'll have some pieces for display only. |

Waiting time for 26331ST is not that long. About the 15500ST I talked to them they said around 1.5 years waiting list as a new client. I asked some friends who are regular clients at AP and yes the waiting time can be shorter, as usual here in HK :-) Good connexions help a lot. I heard it could be 3 months waiting for 26331ST |

I have a friend who frequents HK often. He was offered blue 15500 after 2 month wait, but he could only get it if he bought a few ROO or a PC

Blue dial is not something you'd get as a first time buyer nowadays. However given the riots etc in HK, it is as good time as ever to give it a shot.

Not sure about HK but in Singapore they stopped taking deposits and names for the 39mm ROC already. List all full I guess, especially for the blue dials they are reserved for repeat customers.
