Love my LN but had I been offered both, I’d have chosen BLNR. I don’t disagree, all GMT’s should have 2 tone ceramic bezels—but my LN is so versatile, it literally goes with anything. I’m a fan and don’t expect I’ll ever part with it.
I think I should have both! Oh, and Pepsi, Coke & Root Beer! While I’m at it, with Jubilee too.

I know I am looking for trouble for saying this, but I am having a hard time with GMT LN.
I believe GMTs should be bicolor (just my opinion). Also, this watch cries "I, Rolex, failed at making a ceramic Pepsi so I did an LN in the meantime, and btw I did discontinue the model when I was actually able to do the BLRO". In other words and beyond its obviously great look, it means failure and is therefore kind of a cooler for me. |

What about the old 5 digit LN with aluminum Bezel. Was that a failure too? All 3 models existed at the same time (black, Pepsi and coke) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I actually owned the LN (twice!) each for a year or two I absolutely loved it but eventually got bored of all the black. I think my tastes/style have since changed. I realised I now need more colour in my watch so I am on the list for the Pepsi and been praying for that call!

LN for me, no contest. I picked mine up back in 2009, my sons birth year, and in that time it has been a daily between my father and I. We also rotate it with a CHNR and Black ExII. The LN continues to get significant and equal wrist time and I don't see that ever changing. It's a classic IMO, if for no other reason than it represents a lot of firsts for Rolex.

That LN has my vote. I think it’s on a lot of people’s radar. Great photo.

LN looks like Sub. I prefer BLNR, way better looking piece.

Funny how the LN was always the unpopular sibling then it got discontinued and people became interested in it again...wonder if it was because the sudden resale price jumped to a silly amount....lol. Hype makes the world go round indeed.

LN is my daily and my first Rolex purchase. Loved it over the BLNR.

If ceramic insert, then LN. If aluminum insert, then Pepsi.

Both are great looking watches. I would agree with some of the comments that a GMT should have a bi-colored bezel and that the LN is a bit too similar to a Sub. BLNR gets my vote.

Those who prefer the LN because it goes with all attire, do you still feel that way with BLRO? To me the red/blue would go with less attire Vs BLNR. I also think most people don’t care if their Hulk, BLRO or BNLR matches what they’re wearing. The BLRO is very popular; maybe due to its iconic colors?
When the Kermit and Hulk first came out they were not popular and sat in AD cases for a relatively long time. In this case, it’s not a function of being discontinued as is the GMT LN, the Hulk is still available. Social media to some degree is responsible for it👌🏽👌🏽s 👌🏽ccpopularity. Is there a high correlation between the manual wind Daytona’s of the 70’s, and the Milgauss and an increase in value of a modern discontinued watch? When the Airking is discontinued that might become the next Paul Newman |

Not to derail the thread but are there any differences between a 116710 BLNR from say 2013 versus a 2018 or 2019 model (prior to it being discontinued)?
Deciding between the LN and BLNR currently as well for my final purchase for the long terms. Thanks |

The LN by a long, long way. Oyster bracelet, more classy and understated than the others.
I think Rolex made a mistake discontinuing it and I have little love for the BLRO (my least liked) and BLNR although a Coke on Oyster would come close to the LN. The LN is absolutely needed in the GMT line. Buyers should not be forced to have a gaudy multi-coloured watch (or jubilee) if we want the GMT function. Rolex should allow choice in both style and function. The Ceramic bezels look best in black, colours just don’t work as well as they did with aluminium. The purple pink BLRO especially looks bad. |
