Rolex Daytona 6265 S.Steel $26100.

Rolex Daytona 6265 $26100.

Wow the prices just seems to get higher for the 6265 or 6263
When you think at the time, they were using a ETA Valjoux movement.
And was a poor seller, against the auto sports models.

Rather amazing considering that during the 60s and 70s ADs couldn't move these watches at all. I believe in the mid-70s you could get a SS Daytona for the sum of about $CDN400.

Man, if knew then what we know now, I woulda combed the world buying up the market place and put them in a vault for 25 years.

Ah, I see you're a fan of The Cannibal as well! To me, he is still the greatest. Won everything that could be won, al classics, the Tour, world champion on the road, world hour record, the works. Sorry for this off-topic rant.

Take care,

Frans.

Oh hell yeah! Eddy is the greatest cyclist to ever live, end of story, full-stop period. Over 300 professional wins in a 10 year career, including the hour record and the triple crown... No one will EVER match his dominence or excellence. He also raced year 'round including cyclo-cross and 6-day track races. He is the king!

Hey, you live just across the Tasman. Hop on over and we'll drink together, seriously. You're just a stone's throw away and I'd love to meet up with you someday.

Be careful, Aaron. You need to moderate your habits. Take me, for example. There are only two times when I drink. When I'm alone or when I'm with someone else. I abstain at all other times.

Ahhh, drinks. My other favorite subject. We returned home last Saturday from a 2.5 weeks vacation in Portugal. Found a nice little bar there, The Crown Pub. And boy do they make a good cocktail there! Cha-Cha-Cha: Gin, Triple-Sec, Crème de Banane and fresh pineapple juice over crushed ice, mmmm. I drink only on ONE occasion: when I’m awake :-)We started off in Lisbon which sports the largest mall in Europe and that mall is teaming with watch shops. AP all around, popular brand over there as are Lange, IWC and PP. And the venerable Rolex off course.

Take care,

Frans.

Fraz, I know that mall. It's freakin' HUGE with an amusement park on the roof!

I spent two weeks in Portugal a few years back. Had a blast!
