Rolex SUB no date 2019-2020

Hello,
I was able to finally get a Rolex Sub not date yesterday, I had to fly internationally to get it at a Rolex store at an airport but didn't have time to even take it out of the box or ask any questions due to flight delays.
Any suggestion or things I need to know. This is my first Rolex.

Rolex store was great as they put the watch on hold over the phone and waited a week till I flew to pick it up.
A family member has bought 2 watches from them before, and i have frequently flown through there, and have been asking for the Sub.
Id say I was fortunate the sales rep contacted me as soon as they shipped one to them.

For the last year and half i have stopped at all Rolex stores in every country I have visited and they have all been out of stock.

Thanks in advanced.

Congratulations!! I had to fly internationally for my first watch (SF to Vancouver) and I'm glad I did. The 114060 is a beautiful watch, enjoy! Welcome to the forum.

Congrats! Hopefully the watch has been sized and ready to go. Otherwise not much to owning the watch. Only thing I remember was about not setting the time between a certain set of hours.

Can anyone confirm this or is this just a myth?

To the extent that rule still applies to modern Rolex movements (maybe someone else can confirm), it's only an issue for movements with date mechanisms.

You can set a modern Rolex any time of the day.

Welcome to the forum javier and huge congrats! Tell them the sales advisor that it's your first Rolex and ask for the bracelet to have it sized to your wrist and ask politely that they do it lovingly. Check that the boxes, papers and accessories are there and that the warranty card is included with the correct details on it. Enjoy the Submariner in the best of health.

Congratulations! You made a fine choice for a Rolex and dive watch, in general. Since there is no date on the 114060 you can set the time at any point during the day. I love mine because of that. It is my first watch without a date and has convinced me opt for a non-date version of a watch whenever possible.

You'll love it, it's one sweet watch. Advice: don't fuss over the scratches and dings and surely don't try to buff them out yourself. Save them for the 10 year service.

The only thing you should be aware of is that you’ll be looking too much too long at your wrist and that’s can become dangerous when driveling :-)

You're efforts were amply rewarded.
Where did you have to fly to?

The issue does not exist in modern Rolex and certainly not with a no date sub. Other brands like Omega have warnings in the manual about using the quick set date between 10 pm to 2 am when the date wheel is engage to the drive train already.
