Hello everyone, I notice that the model DAYTONA 116519LN only takes value. This model is marketed new, cheaper than its used sale. Yet this is a gold model.

The Submariner 116619LB in gold is the opposite, it is sold more expensive in stores than in the second-hand market.

Can you explain to me why?

I wish to leave a legacy to my son and know what watch to pass on to him that will retain its value for the rest of my life. Thank you very much.

Ps. I'm French, excuse my English

Well, while Daytona's in general hold their value well, PM versions have had mixed results over the years. This one, however, has been very well received by the masses, and the demand, along with the relative unavailability of it, have combined to make for a strong resale value. My opinion, anyway...

If you intend to pass the watch to your son, you shouldn't be concerned with it's resale value. Get what you like and what speaks to your personality. That will speak to your son more than it's resale value.
