Submariner (116610) on Jubilee
I’ve read many mixed comments (mostly opposed) to placing a jubilee on a Submariner. However, I can’t seem to find any specifics on which jubilee bracelets would “fit” if I wished to try out this look.
Anyone have first hand knowledge if a Datejust 36, say a 116x model, would work on a 116610 Submariner? I’ve already read the opinions, looking for facts. Pictures are more than welcome! Thanks guys, stay awesome and stay safe! |

The Oyster Glidelock on the Submariner range is the best bracelet ever put on a wristwatch, I won’t change it.

It would not look right jubilee on a Sub. Sorry. I'm not even keen on the GMT/Jubilee combo. Professional Rolex models look best on an Oyster bracelet.

Thanks for letting me know it works! And also for all the opinions on how silly it is. Think you can use the jubilee AND glidelock?
Is the GMT (looks alone) so different than the Sub that jubilee works better? Or do all the naysayers on Sub/Jubilee also dislike GMT/Jubilee (looks alone...)? |

For me, they're not that much different. I'm a bit in the minority in that I love the jubilee on the GMT, but I put a YG two tone jubilee on my blue submariner YG two tone just for kicks, just like in the picture. It just didn't look right to my eye. As far as stainless jubilee on stainless black sub, not as bad, but still not right to me. Kind of falls into the uncanny valley. . .

A 36mm DJ case has a slightly different curvature than a 40mm Sub. The corresponding end links to match that 36mm case curvature would strike a 40mm case right at the lugs due to the slightly tighter arc.
While it’s imperceptible visually (except to a WIS eye) this will cause case wear where the contact points touch the case. Yes, it can be done - but if you want the Jubilee Sub combination to work best for the long run, then a Jubilee made for a 40mm case is the best bet. Meaning one that came off a GMT of the same model era - 116xxx or 16xxx. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

As far as i know the 63200/63600 bracelets work on SubC. At least I know they work for Oyster bracelet GMTs and my quick check seems to suggest it works on a Sub as well. Here's a thread withaa Hulk on Super Jubilee in this case 63600, but this thread seems to suggest 63200 is the same just with two less removable links, which could save you money if you find it cheaper and shouldn't be an issue unless you have particulatly small wrists. 63203/63603 are TT versions and should work for TT SubC and 116713LN.

Rolex should offer both oyster and jubilee options on all sports models.

I saw this combo at the Rolex24 at Daytona this year. I swear I saw 50+ Rolex watches and 30 were subs, 15 dj, 5 other. Of all, I really only remember the jubilee SubC as it was different. It was day two sitting in the stands watching the final laps. It really didn’t look bad and actually had a nice presence. I 100% endorse it.
