Explorer compatible with Bluesy?

I have got the opportunity of picking up a new Explorer from an AD and although having turned down one some time ago I thought it would be a good opportunity to purchase it and wear in conjunction with my Bluesy. I do love the 116613LB but feel it sometimes feels a little loud and the Explorer would be a good alternative to wear in a more casual situation. A chalk and cheese scenario both are lovely watches but have different appeals for different occasions. Does the forum rate the Explorer as a classic but easy on the eye?

I actually think that would be a great pairing. That sounds like a great balance. My only concern would be that since you already turned it down once you might end up regretting it later. Have you thought just a regular sub? Or possibly a smooth bezel DJ?

They should pair pretty nicely.

I'm not a big fan of wide, flat ss bezels like on the Explorer, but for me it would be a relief to look at compared to the blue watch.

I am pretty sure you won’t regret with that combination.

I paired mine with a Tudor BB ETA black dial/blue bezel, and love switching between the two. Planning on adding a black true diver like the Pelagos or Omega Planet Ocean in the near future. I think the Explorer, especially the black one, would be a good pairing, as well, just from an aesthetics point of view. There's something about switching between black and blue that is very appealing. I love the orange detailing on the dial and hand (similar to the Omega I'm looking at). Functionally, there's no denying what the Explorer provides, as well.

I have both of these pieces in my collection and wear them both regularly; they compliment each other very well.

Both great watches. I personally don't really get the 'compatible' 'complement' (N.B. not 'compliment' - that's quite different ; ) question, though. Hopefully, they're never worn at the same time, but I think it's a decent pair to have; different looks.

Definitely. They would make an amazing 2 watch collection. Add in the white dial OP39 and you would have perfection

I have a Polar. I don't know if this is the Explorer you have in mind. I also have a Blusey. They go very well together in my collection. So different yet so Rolex. I love them both and wouldn't part with either.

The reality is that you are the only person who can answer your question. If you think they will pair well, then they will. Nobody else's opinion matters. If you have a doubt, there is no doubt. Pass and either keep your money or put it into something that instantly sings to you.

It’s a great reference IMO. Understated, and easy to wear with anything

It would be a good addition with the bluesy.
