Mailing family watch to CA
Hi all. Hope all is well and staying safe. Just wondering if anyone done mailing pre-owned watches from oversea. Did you get taxed? I wanted to mail my family watch to the states without getting charged for the tax. Thanks!

It’s generally a pretty small amount, if you owe it at all. “Family watch” as in it never entered the US before? It can be complicated - age, case material, type, etc., but you can search here for customs duties or look it up on the .gov sites.

It depends on where it’s coming from and that countries customs as well. I have a 126711chnr from an AD stuck with a relative in Thailand right now. I don’t feel comfortable/ trust outgoing customs and won’t try to send it until things die down.
