It depends on how long you want to wait for it.

Through grey market, you will get it much quicker. However, from my understanding there have been a few AK's floating around ADs lately. Recently one of my AD's had both an AK & Exp 1 sitting on the shelf...

It seems the grey market pricing is similar to MSRP for the AK...

With new you would have the latest model.

On the secondary market you can find Air-Kings from all the way back into the 1940's.

With Air-Kings it's a case of "the older the better", IMO.

("better" as in "better choice").

I prefer the 116900.
AD has one right now for me to pick up.
I am not sure whether it worth that money or go for grey market.

Ive seen AK's at AD's a lot recently... however, THEY NEVER LAST LONG.

I've seen them sell faster than Ex1's in the same case.

Definitely brand new. Least expensive 116900 on Chrono24 (any condition) is about $6000. Brand new from Rolex is $6450. So it would only make sense to get it brand new.

On Chrono24 the average price for a preowned box and papers Bloodhound Air King at this time from my portfolio is $7354. Definitely get it from AD if you like it. You will get purchase history that my be helpful in the future too.

Most on this forum only think of the current model (unfortunately). Let not confuse myth with a bunch of untidy facts. As to the question; I'd got the least expensive way possible.
