Is servicing impossible now without physically delivering my watch to an RSC?
I can find no info on rolexforums.com, or on the Rolex website, about how to send my watches off for a service. I thought now would be a good time since they’ve been in their cases for months now, but can’t find anything about RSC’s, except their locations. I thought it was a business that could be executed well, albeit more slowly, while we are all in quarantine, but it seems it’s either now a secret, or not even possible to send watches in for a service. Happy to send to CH, but is that the state we’re in in the US (RSC can’t even take in new watches for servicing)? Surely we’re not THAT incompetent.

Uh? Have you tried calling the RSC? Many members here have reported sending their watches directly to the RSC or through their ADs.

No I didn’t considering it’s 2020. Considering all the threads on this site said everything is running behind because of reduced staff, and the fact it’s 2020 and websites and electronic communications are what I would consider fairly commonplace, I thought calling them would be the biggest waste of their resources and the least effective way of getting shit done. I also wasn’t planning to write them a cheque for completing the service(s) either. Maybe I should prep my horse and mosey on down to Dallas and see what ‘dem city-folk is up to.

People unfortunately are still expected to use phones in 2020. It's a great solution to many of life's confusions. Wish you luck in the journey! Take the pickup though. May get coughed at lots round that way at the mo. Be safe!

I did not have an issue as I just got my Sub back as it did take 3+ weeks and I went thru my local AD.

Hate to break it to you but the watchmaking industry isn’t exactly the bleeding edge of technology. Most luxury brands still refuse to be sold online, never mind offering a ‘Prime’ option for next day collection for servicing.
Pretty sure you can still pay by cheque |

Call RSC and ask to be sent a service box/kit.
They send you a box and instruction. Follow instructions and send back to RSC via USPS. Wait a week or two for a call saying what your watch needs / costs / etc Wait 8 to 10 weeks for service. Get watch back.

OP has been around since 2013 with nearly 500 posts. I'm confident he knows how to send a watch to RSC. Possible hack?

Yeah, interesting. However, I’m worried about sending my grail YG Daytona through the AD for service and enquired on TRF and found out I can go direct the RSC Dallas.

I would never go through the AD, even on a new watch. Rolex pays the shipping to them by reimbursement check. By your sending the watch to Rolex, you have the ability to talk directly to them on any issues or the needed work or findings. If the AD sends, they will only deal with the AD. The AD is a unnecessary middleman in my view for Rolex service.

I recently sent my gmt in for a service .I was told by the RSC that I had to go
through an AD.I had to wait four weeks for the AD to quote. I got a bit of a shock with the quote.I was told by the AD that several links in the bracelet needed replacing and that Rolex would not service the watch unless I replaced these four links. I decided to go ahead and fix all areas recommended by Rolex as I love the watch.I now have to wait 8 -10 weeks. I am not sure how much the AD is skimming off the top |
