Hell, even if 10 came through- are you just going to let some guy walk in off the street and say "hey, give me that blue Sky Dweller you've got in the safe, please." No, you are going to call some of your best customers and tell them you've got something they might be interested in. The size of those customers will obviously vary by geographic location and AD, but it's all the same directionally...that AD has customers who spend a good deal more than the average person, and those are the people that are going to get the call. The AD saying you have to spend $100k to be on that list is not him actually EXPECTING you to do that; he's giving you a relative threshold needed to be in that VIP tier that gets those calls. I fail to understand how there is anything at all wrong with this practice. He can't invent watches. And even if he does happen to get 10 blue Sky Dwellers and sells 5 to greys to split the extra juice, I'm not even really sure I can blame him for that.

And saying "I'd happily spend $100k in a year if you had all of the popular watches that I want and could likely turn a profit on" is just as crazy as the AD saying it takes $100k to get on that list...especially because that list is made up of people who spend $100k every year, not just in 1 year to buy the most popular few SS Rolexes out there and then be content.

I get it but it doesn’t sound any less idiotic to me ...
100k to get 14k worth , just no , go grey then

Still people commenting without reading much of the thread. Y’all know he was pulling our leg and got a blue-dial Sky-D, right?

I had been waiting about a year roughly - mine came in last Monday - my AD did expect one sometime before the year was over, but he was equally excited and surprised as I was when it arrived ... I think many dealers must’ve just gotten 1 each perhaps within the last week or two... seems that way... anyway, unbelievable watch right!? Congrats on yours

Except the list of people who sign up to do just this is like, several years long for many ADs.

I was at the AD getting a price on a new Seiko orange Samurai and they asked if I wanted to see the blue Skydweller they just got in. I said sure, why not? Next thing I know it's two watches I bought this week.

Maybe I better buy a ticket.....

Wow. They offered. Nice. Congrats.

I told 3 Rolex dealers the same, except I was willing to spend $60k for the pieces I wanted. Since I already own several timepieces, Rolex will not see any more of my money.

Lists on this here are closed where I live , I guess if you are lucky to find one who puts your name down 2-7 years.
