Documentation put together from a recent 222 search focused across both the iconic Jumbo but also it’s mid-sized counterpart. Find a breadth of information from the history and production to a deep-dive on the design details/variants. I hope you enjoy. Ben https://www.watchbrotherslondon.com/...-and-ref-46003 |

Great write-up, thanks! Now if only Vacheron could release this in their Historiques line...

VC should release the 222 in SS as part of their Historiques line. If they want to modernize it to 38 or 39mm I'm fine with that but they should definitely bring it back. I'd save up and get one.

Great write-up!
Missed the boat on the original but I'd be interested in a modern 222 despite not being a fan of remakes. In contrast the 4500 Overseas does nothing for me - too large and bulky, the blue one too blue, just not a pretty watch in my eyes. Staying the course has been paying off for AP and PP, whereas IWC and VC mishandled their Ingenieur and 222 heritage IMO. |

Wonderful resource. Love the 222. So much better than the Overseas.
Anyone noticed how, with the bezel removed, it looks exactly like the Czapek Antarctique? |

Good observation. The Czapek looks nice and all, but I find it weird that just highend sports watches almost by design must have integrated lugs. That look is almost unexisting outside that niche. The Aquanaut being the exception.

Great info on the 222. I'd gladly buy a 222 if VC re-released it. I like it far more than the Overseas. Its been my dream for them at introduce it again as part of the Historiques line.
The Czapek does nothing for me. Too generic looking and I don't like its bracelet. |

That's why they should release it in the Historique collection and not a separate line. I think VC already discontinued their VCO ultra thin. It makes more sense to reintroduce a modernized 222 at 39mm in SS.

For those who feel they’ve missed the boat on the Jumbo there’s always the midsize reference that can be found for a comparatively affordable price. If you think it’s too small I’d definitely recommend trying one on, this sits perfectly on my 16.5+ cm wrist
