Any word on the 3861 movement update to the speedy pro?
Just a little musing, going back and forth....
I'm itching to add a chrono to my collection, really tempted by the Speedmaster, and more specifically the hesalite version! The warmth and unique character of that crystal, together with the timeless and awesome design of the speedmaster pro dial/case, strike me as a nearly perfect chrono. Definitely a staple for any collection. Helps that it looks awesome on so many straps, too. Only thing holding me back is the new 3861 movement, I think it's worth waiting for that upgrade. Hacking, master chronometer, and antimagnetic aspects are icing on the cake! Is it worth it to wait? I wish there was some more information. Do you think they'll retain the same case / dial / design but simply switch out the movement? What other changes do you think might come? I wonder if the bracelet will be upgraded and include a micro-adjusting clasp. That would be worth the wait, as well. |

That's what I'm waiting for. 3861 > 1861 in my book.

I asked my boutique the other day, they said it's definitely happening but they don't know when.

I suppose you can wait for the new model, and then simply purchase the old one in case you find it's your preference.

Towards the end of the article, the CEO of Omega says this "Then we will have James Bond. Then we will have the Ryder Cup and we will have some amazing new watches related to the Speedmaster. We will have the new Moon watch coming out. " Looks like 2021 will be the year for the new Moon Watch. |

About Snoopy: "I read on the Omega forums that they were complaining that the watch should be limited, and I was thinking, “Thank you, guys. You were complaining five years ago that we should stop with the limited edition, especially because not enough people can get the watches.” "We are Omega, we don’t like to exclude people as some others do."

It's that mentality combined with great watches that has made Omega my go to brand. I am also waiting for the update, quite looking forward to going in and purchasing it without any BS.

I think we will see some updates to dial, hands and/or bezel. It wouldn’t surprise me if they went ceramic bezel on all models.
I also wouldn’t be surprised to see the hesalite sandwich brought back. But, I think we will lose the NASA certification along with it. The moonwatch as we know it may well just die. That’s why I went for the original 1861. |

I’m afraid of what the price “upgrade” might be, but nonetheless I’m waiting impatiently for the new Moonwatch. I hope it comes on a flat link bracelet.

It's been underpriced (as a package) for years. BUT, there will need to be upgrades. Adjustability in the clasp should be one. The 3861 will happen though. No doubt in my mind. Omega aren't recovering the 3861 capex on a couple of special edition releases. |

Seriously. When I see photos of the new 321 Ed White I’m drawn mostly to the look of the bracelet, which of course is ridiculous considering the movement in that watch. |
