John Mayer's Dirty Little Secret

... in the wrong light, that gold bezel is wicked.

(Same watch. No filters on either photo. Just caught her on a bad day.)

First, I think that this an awesome comparison of lighting. And I LOVE seeing PM watches worn..... not fussing on every little scratch or nick - but enjoyed. Good for him.

Its a great watch. Will it become a classic, a "sleeper hit" like he conjectured? Only time will tell, but if more influencers like him decide that that's the way it is... it'll be likely that they sway other people toward their line of thinking.

Glad that it isn't a safe queen.

Can't say I disagree with this statement one bit- I think this is an excellent watch for someone looking to buy/ sell and make a quick $10K but I couldn't see personally wanting to wear this daily.

In a large collection like Mayer has, sure it makes sense...but for me meh not so much.

Agree. It’s nice. But not 50k nice. I was never a fan of the bezel for exactly this reason. When they go ceramic it may be a different story!

Lucky duck! I visited the RAH for the first time this past November. I started playing guitar cause of Clapton Unplugged many moons ago. It's been a dream of mine to see him there. I've seen him twice one solo and once with Jeff Beck.

One very chilly early May evening at the Molson Amphitheater (EC had pocket warmers in his jacket) Jeff Beck & EC was at the Air Canada Center.

Any worn watch can present poorly in the right (or rather "wrong") light.

Beautiful watch.

Not to sound like a fanboy or anything, People like to hate on Mayer only because he "seems" arrogant and cocky(not like that at all in real life, more like "eccentric"). But why shouldn't he be? Anybody who knows music agrees that he's a modern day guitar god. Mayor himself even admitted that he's trying to be more humble and thankful. Respect. Not a bad guy at all.

Oh, I forgot we're on a watch forum. That Daytona is lit!

Original post doesn't mention the pic source, but I suggest lighting as mentioned, but possible the clean pic is a year or two before the used pic. Possibly when he first got it, and the second pic after he had been wearing significantly. I imagine performing with it and playing guitar gets it plenty of scratches.
