Comparison without looking at the brand
The one on the right is beautiful, classy, blingy but boring. The one on the left is beautiful, innovative, purposefully built. I like both but wear the one on the left more Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Both are great watches and fun to wear. A lot depends on the owner and the collection.

Date bubble kills the one on the right for me. I understand the purpose and that a lot of wearers like it, I'm not one of them. But you have no choice if you want one. I trust the movement in the one one the left much more. I might add that I REALLY don't like to be told what I can do and can't do with a watch that I had bought and paid for when it comes time for service. I.E. straps or bracelets. Just me though.

Both great watches indeed. I prefer the simplicity of the one on the right, but can see why some would prefer the left

I know what you mean, Bert. My Omega watches have been bringing me more joy lately than the exact same GMT I have. Having the best of both worlds is a great thing though.
I too would be wearing the one on the left a lot more! The detail on the dial and of course sapphire case back add such a nice touch. |

Watch on the right for sure. I like and appreciate many omega models, but I can't get over the HEV, why is that part of a "purposefully built" design? That mixed with the wave dial, skeleton hands and hard to grip and too curvy of a bezel makes for a "tacky" watch (if the GMT is "boring").

Like them both but given (theoretically) same price and one to chose I would go -->
Yes the blue is more striking :) |

Seamaster looks HUGE in that picture. When I compared one in person with my Sub, the difference didn't seem so dramatic...

I want to love the Seamaster, but it wears very chunkily on my wrist. For this reason, alone I would prefer just about any Rolex over it.

Spot on. Love my Seamaster but arguing that it’s better than a Sub/SD/GMT by any objective measure is a stretch. |

At the risk of being flamed here I just couldn’t live with the manual HEV. I just don’t like the look of it. Would an automatic HEV on the side of the case not be a better design when they purposefully built the watch?

Between those two: GMT all day, everyday. That being said, Omega Seamasters are some of my favorite watches...just not that one.

First impressions.
Omega- Sporty, outdoors, swimming, hiking. Tee shirt jeans and shorts. Summer. Rolex- Office, dressy, flying, work related travel, serious, fancy. Walking past an Omega boutique and looking at their overall collection is awesome. Seeing the omega line in the flesh is fun. Pieces you wouldn’t think about, stand out to you side by side others. I think Omega has some of the best watches on the market. And at prices feasible for most. |

That pic makes the SMP seem bigger than it is in reality. I think the SMP is a much more interesting and striking watch and more fun to wear than the LN. The BLNR and BLRO are a different story though. JMO.

I love Omega, but that helium release valve kills it for me. And yes, I have tried, and it's awkwardness never went away for me.
Just my opinion |

I still can't understand why recognizing that a watch is great needs to be done alongside a needle to another model from a competitor brand. The sm300 is great, so is the gmt. No need to call one boring in order do accentuate that you enjoy the other.
