i didn't mean any disrespect with my comment, it wasn't obvious from your initial post that you bought all your watches from that specific AD

Patek Promiscuous

Thank you for your sensitivity my friend. All well. Specific answer to your question is as much as I love buying from one specific AD, I am Patek Promiscuous. there are a few I like that I buy from. I have been to many Patek shops across the world. My least favorite, worst experience has been at the Patek shop in Torino/Turin (two different trips). Snobbish and snooty to the max. My best experience where hopefully I am deservedly considered a good customer is the Patek shop in Milan where Mr. Federico Bernero is the store manager. He has always been straightforward, honest, candid, and reliable with me. He has no problem giving his opinion and has never pushed me. Never false promises. I think our tastes are rather similar. I love the Patek shop in Tokyo and trust their professionalism but have not purchased from them yet. Geneva people are also good and the store, well - it's a wonderful flagship. In the US I've established relationships with some ADs but certainly do not expect and/or donot count on their promises. Hope I've answered your question. |

Please take anything I say as a simple data point from a humble country boy and massage it with what our other cohorts' wisdom here. I'm sure many Forum-ers here find my approach wrong. Theoretically speaking, financially for any single, anticipated one-time transaction, you may be better off IF you absolutely trust your source and all the paper work, etc. are in place. ADs may have the best intentions and be genuine but does not mean they can deliver. People like me are a dime a dozen at most Patek and Rolex shops. Personally, all things about equal I always prefer dealing with an AD with whom I have fun speaking and exchanging ideas. Maybe even have coffee or lunch together. My favorite AD (trustworthy person) at times has told me I have to wait a few months for a dress watch that I can find at another Patek shop. I demonstrate my loyalty by giving them the first chance. If they do not have the watch and I want it badly, I jump on it where I can find it. The few times I waited for an AD to deliver, I ended up regretting. Alas, while I give my love to both my AD and my horse, I'd rather put my trust and faith in my horse and not be disappointed. |

part of the fun is actually in finding the watch you want given that patek is not mass produced. I have been to both patek ADs in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Dubai, Geneva, Interlaken, Zurich, Luzern, Washington DC and Auckland NZ. sometimes (not very often) exchange rates at certain time window favor purchasing abroad

keep in mind that if you are going to buy from grey market and have it shipped to Saudi Arabia you will pay on top of the watch price an extra 5% (customs duty) and an extra 15% (VAT).
