Need help finding.....
some info on a thread on one of the Rolex forums for a thread regarding the difference or lack of difference between the SD dial and Sub-date dial. there were pics with caliper measurements. Thanks.

I can't find the thread in our forum. Did you mean JJ's chart with specific sizes and weights?

CJ, this was a thread where the watchmaker literally had the dials out and measured them with a caliper. He was adament that they were the same sizes and had pictures to prove it. Pete17 and I are discussing the sizes, I think it is a perceptual difference based on the size of the bezel or chapter ring, or case size due to WR levels, he contends that there is a physical difference based on comparing relative distances of the markers to the seconds and minute hands. Frankly, I just don't see Rolex using different dial sizes if they don't have to. If I were a business man I would rather just change one line of text on the dial rather than the entire dial. Thanks for looking though.
I just don't remember which forum. In fact on the thread somebody basically told (at least the way I read it) that the watch maker was FOS and the watch maker told him in no uncertain terms he knew what HE was doing. LOL |
