Old GMT Master

Hey folks I wonder if anyone can help me with a question. I am still going to buy a late model Pepsi as soon as I sell my Doxa but I have come across an oppertunity for maybe a collector piece. My question, what would a Gmt Master 1975 vintage be worth. The watch runs but needs to be serviced {crown will not stay pushed in}, and it has been wore everyday since new. It is fairly beat up. No boxes or papers but I know the man and he bought it new. What is it worth now. How much is a full service and polish, and how much would it be worth after the repairs. All staiinless Gmt Master pepsi jubilee 1974-1975vintage. Thanks rolexers you folks are the greatest resource thanks again.

plan on 1g for service depending on what it needs, would use RSC Dallas

watch might be worth 3g if in decent shape, others chime in please on price estimate

You say "crown will not stay pushed in". This should screw in between the shoulders and not just push in. Something doesn't sound right with this

A GMT from that time period would likely be a 1675 Master.. A very nice and desired vintage..

Depending on the condition of the hands, dial, and bracelet, probably between 3 and 4 thousand. However, that could drop considerably if the tritium is deteriorating on the hands and dial, as that is where the value is.

Knock off some more if the bracelet is stretched and needs replacing..

As implied, it's tough to say without photos, but I would agree with Larry's ballpark.

If the crown won't seat I would look for moisture damage. That would affect things a lot.

An RSC service would be about $550 to start (depending on the shape of the movement). I'm not sure about a jubliee bracelet, but a service replacement oyster around $750 or so.

It may not cost you that much to service. I would check around an see if any ADs in your area have in-house service. The estimates on appraisals here look right on. Good luck and don't forget to post pictures please.
