Can't see it happening. Demand outstrips supply massively without a date, what's the point of including one?

There are ways round it, I personally think it would look an already busy dial more cluttered, and I'm sure they'd have to fiddle around with the sub dial configuration to get it sorted - seems more trouble than it's worth in my opinion.

But, to answer the OP...I think anyone that "Heard" about something coming from Rolex is nothing more than wishful thinking. Regardless of how many knowledgeable people there are on this forum, nobody truly knows what's coming out next until it actually surfaces. Until that happens, we're all just sitting around performing a lot of mental masturbation. |

That "somebody" should do stand-up.

Just strap the calendar that came with the SD to your right wrist and you are good to go.

I hope not, just keep it the same. I won't be able to afford a Daytona for years, and I want to buy one exactly as it is now.

Exactly! Also...

...the Daytona is a sport/racing/tool watch. Who needs to know the date while they're racing on a track. A date function would be 100% superfluous given the purpose for which the watch was originally designed. |

If we REALLY only wore our watches when we were engaged in the activities they were built for then I guess all you Daytona owners would ONLY put your watch on when you go out to the race track. Someone remind me how many of you Daytona owners are race car drivers, team owners or pit crew members? I dive with my watches, but these days I'm happy if I get under the ocean w/ a regulator in my mouth at lease 6 times per year. Am I suppose to NOT wear my Sub or DS except for those 6 days out of the year? Again, give me a break. We can go on & on about how this type or that type of watch was designed for this or that type of sport...but in reality these are watches that we wear to tell the time AND date. Things like chrono's & bezels are nice to have too when we want to time things...but I'm sure most are just like me in that the timing feature is used more for timing steaks on the grill & parking meters than they are for the latest lap time around Le mans or the elapse dive time. Rant over. |
