I get the impression that Rolex is now being sold only to “private” clients. That being, you have to have a personal sales associate who will notify you if a watch is available. The only models available to “foot traffic” are bust down 36mm Daydates or Cellinis.
Soon, there may come a point where ADs have display models and customers may express some interest and the SA will get back to you if anything becomes available. |

I’ve heard the same: no more orders, even if it’s DD…

My AD has just ordered a WG DayDate with silver baguette dial and was quoted 20 weeks by their Rolex rep. so it is still possible. I’ve also requested a WG Yachtmaster on Oysterflex and I’m awaiting a answer.

4 of the local ADs have advised the same. No more orders on anything other than ladies DJ or Cellini.
Even 36mm DJs come with a wait list now. |

Sounds like the difference between reaching out to the rep and using the order portal. The latter likely what’s presently closed, while the former “all depends” (your relationship with dealer; theirs with Rolex).

US seems to be the worse place to purchase a Rolex. I have not experienced anything so blatant and rotten in the UK. Maybe, why Geneva Rolex taking more control. Maybe, orders will reopen when they do and things will improve. Having said that if you're spending £90k you probably won't need to wait much for anything anywhere. It is just the customer experience of buying a Rolex which for some people is diabolical. No company can be happy with that, especially one that sells luxury items.

Another Seattleite here. What you were told is indeed correct.

They told me the same thing in Austin. I just ended up buying a 16610 instead.

Not for me in the UK. Have to wait a bit for what I want but nothing untoward. However, different people seem to have vastly different experiences. If anyone asked me for an envelope under the table, they would regret it. They can wallow in their own moral sewer but I would not take kindly to an invitation to join them.

Seattle AD's are a waste of your time and money. Ben Bridge literally caters to high end clients in times like these and will offer discounts when bubbles burst to anybody walking by interested or not. Alvin G in Bellevue is the last and only AD left that is a relationship worth keeping if you buy jewelry and/or other watch brands to move along on their lists.

I was told no orders back in early June. I have a very good history so I don't believe I was being blown off. He also said he will pull through with what I requested.. I haven't heard back and I'm at the point where I couldn't care less so I'm not going to call back or worry about it.

I ordered mine in January and it arrived in May and I was told by the AD that it no longer was an available model for them to order/request.

Same at Crete / Greece This summer visited 2 ADs both say they just get what they are sent, nothing to expect, but I think they can make some calls and bring the desired items for good clients

I visited an AD yesterday and had great showing of few Tudor pieces since ROLEX shelves were empty. Then I ask consultant if I can be in line for a Submariner Date and she said YES. So she filled out a form for me order one. I have no purchase history at that store but did have a great chat about COVID traveling which interested her. She think I can get my Sub in one year. So that will be 364 days more to go!! Good luck to me!

At Rolex boutique, my SA told me that each SA can take 3 order of DateJust only per week.
Probably Rolex has more DateJust in their stock.
