GMT II Bezel

Hi all, 1992 SS GMT II Red/Black with Oysterlock bracelet. Im interested in getting a spare all black bezel insert to swap out for the red/black from time to time. Can this be done? Where to find?

Thanks!

Yes, they can be swapped easily. The problem is finding a genuine insert. Keep your eye out on eBay. A genuine will pop up every now and then.

my AD said they would allow me to buy the two inserts I dont have, black/red and blue/red for $60 each.

And they said they would swap the bezels for no charge.

Is this too good to be true?

$65 here in Tampa, so that's right along the price.

Yes the going rate for a insert is around $60-$70 in the UK much for buyer friendly for changing inserts, bezels, and dials etc.

That's a great deal! My AD told me I had to send my watch to Rolex to get a new insert. I searched around the 'net until I found mine.

Jump on it! I got one from my watchmaker who has a parts account same price, and kept the orginal.
Got one from RSC for $51 when they serviced the watch, but they will keep the old one.

So in Australia a genuine bezel would be about $200 then! We are hard done by down here!

Does anyone know if the local Rolex AD and the shop across the road from me stock them on a regular basis? Or do I just hassle the shop across the road for the extra one when I buy my GMT????

If they'll sell you the insert with the watch, I'd go for it. I was told by my local ad that Rolex don't sell the parts because they'll be copied.

Here in Canada, my watchmaker charges me about $80 Cdn for them. So $60 USD is a good price (we Cdns pay too much for everything due to import taxes being high)

I just went into the shop across the road to see if they had word on the rolex price increase - they knew nothing... I think this shop is doing it hard, I noticed all the omegas are pretty much gone too.. I'd say omega have also pulled the plug on them as an AD for their importing watches from other sources habit.

I'll ask about the bezels but not hold my breath....
