Great photo and awesome story.

So great to see a 1675!! from that period. So this is fashion/marketing a Rolex 1675 for women?

Who would have thought in 1980 when the internet was not even invented that 40 years later we would be sharing this photo all around the world in an experience like this
If we said this back then everyone would have said "Yeah sure, dream on!"

Thanks! This was just a winter fashion story, mostly highlighting the clothing. The GMT would have been added by the stylist/editor on the shoot for a bit of pizzaz and splash of more color. Rolex, the company, would have had no involvement.

Probably one of the best photographs of the 1675 ever!
Did your father own a Rolex? Where did this 1675 come from?
What happened to this 1675?
The riveted bracelet I thought had been superceded in 1980?
There is something wonderful about a 1675 on a woman, empowerment and credibility...
Got anymore photos like this?

Thanks, Steve! Through the '70s, when I was a kid, my dad never owned a Rolex, only a classic digital Pulsar and a blacked-out Porsche design watch. (Both have a super cool retro vibe now, but at the time were very futuristic looking.)

The 1675 in the photo probably belonged to the stylist on the shoot or was borrowed from elsewhere. And although my dad took the photo in late '79, it's quite possible it was from a couple of years earlier, say '76-'77, hence the rivet bracelet.

What I posted was only a tear sheet. It would be cool to pull the original film/chrome, do a high-res scan and blow up the watch to see all of the details.

Yeah, that sure would be cool if it was possible
