Rolex 15007 in Gold - Good choice?

Thoughts on Rolex 15007 - gold date in 14k gold 34M? The president are too rich for my blood, so consider this model. Start as low as $7k and go up over $10k. Good choice for an all gold?

At that point just get an 1803 president for $11-12k. I feel you'd be a bit happier.

If the 34mm looks better on your wrist than a 36mm does, then yes. Otherwise, I agree about getting the DD. The President bracelet is very special.

Question for the forum… presumably a DD costs more to service because of the additional complication than the Date/DJ does, but what is the cost differential?

Some questions to clarify your post;

-Is the president bracelet too rich for you or the overall “President” watch as a hole?
-Are you asking on feedback on the ref. 15007 as a good model to buy from an investment standpoint?
-Is the watch added to your post the one that you are looking to buy and want feedback on?

If you are comparing to a PM DJ, then I think the additional service cost is about $100 IIRC.

Depends on your style of course and budget, but for all gold I'd get a DD, sub, gmt or daytona

Agree. The 1803 is a much nicer piece for the same price.

Compared to my (all full gold) 1012, 1013, and 1013, my 1803 is king. It is a very attractive watch and on bracelet, unmistakeable. I like the others - simple, uncommon, gold - but the 1803 is worth the premium. Only get a 34mm if your wrists are extra small, otherwise, why not push the boat out? You're only going to buy one PM Rolex, probably, make it a good one I say.

Thanks for all the feedback. 34M works for me (its actually for my wife) and the price disparity I’ve found is substantial - good quality 1980s makes are about $9k-10k vs $16.5k.

Does anyone know how hard to resize the 15007 is once you max out removable links?

If 7 is the max you can get a day date on strap then add the 18k bracelet later

I have a 6569 on a gold jubilee the 1013 on a gold jubilee, and the 1803 on the President bracelet with visible clasp. I wear all three, (not simultaneously!) and the 34mm is subtle and comfortable, but my 6569 is substantially thinner than the 15007. For comfort and PRESENCE, I really love the 1013 on the jubilee. This is very much an issue of individual preference. Vintage watches are not a good investment. 16 years from now, the vast majority of the population will NOT be wearing wristwatches, so supply will likely far exceed demand.

Can you post some pictures. It would be nice to see them .I'm a newbie and have just started trying to match reference numbers with pictures
