I think that they are different watches and both are special. I wouldn’t let any of them leave my collection.

You are correct. All of them are hard to get and I will keep them forever. Actually, I am attached to all my watches in some way. :)

Own both - very different watches. Daytona is beautiful and solid, however Patek is mesmerizing and looks incredibly more elegant imho. Also, the 5712 is much more thinner and delicate on the wrist compared to the Daytona. And yeah, I wouldn't let go of either - both are super gorgeous in their own ways.

Thanks gents. I wish I was in the position to keep both, but can't + I'm really a one watch guy. Once I saw the 5712a in person, platona was getting moved! Feels a lot lighter, and far more refined/elegant. Less robust for sure.

If you are a one watch guy then definitely 5712 is the one to have.

100% agree! While the Daytona is an amazing watch, the 5712 is on a whole new level and it would take the first place every time over Daytona. However having both is pretty awesome!

You'll notice a huge weight difference. The 5712a is so light for such a relatively complex piece.

This is right. It is amazing how it feels on the wrist. It is more comfortable than 5167 and VCO on rubber bracelet. It will be so hard to rotate my other watches now.

Both are completely different in every single way of course. I have both, and would not sell either.

But if forced to, I'd keep my Platona over my 5712.
