Client Book

I purchased a no date sub retail in 2019 and am looking to expand my collection. Also looking to purchase a date just for my girlfriend.

I spoke with my AD over the weekend to request the watches we are looking for and she assured me my requests have been put in her “client book.”

Any insight as to what this entails? The AD didn’t indicate a timeline or provide any detail (eg, didn’t mention a waitlist). I assume this means the AD will place an order next time they are able to (hoping for beginning of the year).

Curious to hear speculation from others on TRF.

Cheers

It has little to do with anybody outside that particular sales rep.

There is no universal Rolex, or AD client book (list)

Every SA has their own client list. You were added to her list along with the watch you desire.

it’s just a indication of interest and unlikely a queue list

ADs can't "place" an order. ADs get what they get from Rolex.

You're in the queue to get a Rolex and its not sequential. Its based on your spending history. How much you've spent. Are you more valuable as a client with you 2019 purchase vs. someone who spends $100k per year?

Client book is the ADs or the SAs list of clients .Who wants what .
Allocation comes in,they go through the requests .Simple.

It ranges from "absolutely meaningless, just go grey" to "oh might be here tomorrow"

If all you bought was a no date sub, chances are it really doesn't matter.

What watch was it? You may want to set your expectations based on the watch you are seeking to some extent. For example, if you want a BLRO, chances are that's going to be a tall order compared to say a 36mm Datejust, which might be a bit easier, or a Milgauss, which might not have as many people seeking it but just might be something they get in less often.

Client Book

If it’s a datejust then it means she’ll keep
An eye out and if there isn’t anyone she values more that wants it (or another rep beats her to it) she’ll call you when or if the combination you want comes in.

Drop in every so often to remind her you’re waiting. You’ll have a better chance if you are open to several DJ options and it’s not a combination everyone else wants.

Waitlists are a misnomer

So are dealers just getting what Rolex sends them, or do they specify the models they want?

She wrote your request on a post-it note and is now somewhere in a drawer

I'm guessing an ink pen is somehow involved but beyond that it is anyone's guess.
