Icon4 My new Aurora

It just arrived yesterday. I've always wanted an Aurora, and this one caught my eye and even though it was too expensive and I need another fountain pen like I need another hole in my head, you know - you live once. Hey, cheaper than a new watch, right?

I ordered a medium nib, and it came with a fine, but I can live with it. It writes beautifully. The [phone] camera makes it look lighter in color than it actually is.

14K nib. The model is OPTIMA AUROLOIDE.

Lovely pen. Congratulations! The Optima is a great writing pen and works well if you have a shallow pocket because it's a full sized pen but is short when capped. Unfortunately, I've had to have one of my daily use Optimas repaired twice for a broken piston filling mechanism, and I baby my pens, but I still love using it.

Nice Pics Richard, thanks. I snapped a couple of quick ones for you guys, thanks for asking. If I was home, I'd use my real camera and they might actually be focused...

This is so true. Though when my piston broke for the third time, I called it quits and found it a new home. I do miss my Optima though. It was such a beautiful looking and writing pen!

I really like Auroras. I bought an Africa model on a lark, because the coin seller I was dealing with had it for sale. I just love it (it's a rollerball) and use it all the time. I have many MB, and actually prefer the Aurora for everyday. The Optima is a great line!
