General AP bracelet question?
A little info from those that know please.
For those of you with RO's with bracelets, do you know how those bracelets are sized, specifically are the links user replaceable with screwdrivers or can they only be replaced with the AP link removal gun? I know that the whole bracelet can be removed from the case with screw drivers, but I don't know about the links themselves, i.e. whether they are threaded screw bars. I was with AP this afternoon, and I definitely asked the question with regards to my wife's future watch, but either I was distracted and didn't hear the answer (the way I'd prefer to interpret matters) or I simply didn't listen to the answer (the most likely interpretation of matters). Either way I am still in the dark. Many thanks. p.s. I had assumed they were threaded screw bars and thus user serviceable, but I no longer trust what I think I know. |

I have taken out links on my 38mm ROC, which I assume is the same type of bracelet for any other RO.
It’s actually quite easy but I also invested in some good tools to do it, on the advice of a dealer here that showed me how truly easy it is: https://www.esslinger.com/bergeon-30...set-with-case/ https://www.esslinger.com/bergeon-77...ring-bar-tool/ You simply unscrew the screw - Be careful it is TINY. Then take the pointed end of the spring bar tool and force the screw out the other end. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The link removal gun would definitely be cool though

Screwdriver is very easy. If you end up ordering Bergeon set. This was AP north Americas service center response to me on which sizes to use if you don’t want to buy a full set.

If you haven't yet tried the AP screws, save yourself some pain and make sure to cover /protect all the metal around the screwheadb you can use something as simple as masking tape or transparent tape. Do this because the screws are so small and the precision needed is so great, you will almost certainly have the screwdriver unintentionally slide off the screw head and that leads to scratches for sure and gashes at worst. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes pretty easy to do well. Still use tape even if you are an expert. And do all this over something that the screws and small pieces can fall into if you unintentionally drop them, even something as simple as a flat Tupperware bowl or plate (with raised edges) will work.
