I would imagine you have to buy the "lesser" models..ie: not sub, gmt, Daytona, etc.. you'll have to buy PM and TT pieces and ladies with diamonds etc.. to get on the list for the sought after models..

Any tips to get on the official AD list and get Rolex at retail?

Should I visit the store anytime I am at the mall? What has worked for you besides having years of building that AD relationship.

Thanks

There is no list. That’s a myth. Rolex ADs sell the watches to customers they know first then consider selling to a new customer if they happen to call at the right time. Spending on jewelry you don’t want or need in the hopes of being offered a watch you want is fine if you have money to burn. Approach the AD with genuine interest and wait. I’m generally against going grey mostly because their markups are not justifiable at current asking prices.

Take the L by buying watches that you can flip at a minimaL loss.. keep doing it where the AD/SA thinks you're a loyal customer and decides to speed up the process where you're close to the top of the coveted so called list.

bet you're pleasant to be around.

I am in California. I've bought a BLnR from the dealer about 4-5 years ago. The AD only sells Rolex and nothing else.

This time I am looking for a datejust 36 in the palm dial

I'm a wonderful person to be around with. You'll have a blast. But I'm also not naive to think, just because I put my info down, I will get a phone call from the AD without putting in work.

Sorry, that's how it works. I'm sure you already know.

That is very limited and had to get especially in jubilee/fluted. It does not hurt to ask however. My wife waited a while. Since introduction and recently got one AD said it was only one they got….

I like the money talks, bs walks concept. But it sucks dealing with brutal SAs that don't want to work with you. They try to get your money without giving up anything in return.

If not buying a ton of watches or jewelry is an option, my suggestion is to make yourself a fairly regular visitor and in my experience you get bonus points for referring customers to the AD, especially customers that buy things. I've had a couple of friends go buy watches with my salesperson and they both name dropped me, and I later received an email from the sales associate thanking me for sending business their way.

Yeah the AD mentioned he has not seen this at all and does not believe they have ever received any palm dials.

Congrats to your wife

Money, lots of it.

Buy jewelries, other slow selling watches, etc. basically buy your way on the list. The more you spent, the quicker it gets you to the top of the list.

Its no rocket science. :)
