(Secondary Market) Will the Aquanaut SS 5167A join the $100K club....??

The price of the Patek SS Sport Watch are INSANE.....!!!

As most of you know all the SS Nautilus is in the 6 figures club.... Well, high 6 figures.....lol..... 5711 @ $160K, 5712 @ $170K, 5726 @ $190K, etc.....

Also all the current production Aquanaut is in the 6 figures club, except the SS 5167A....

Just check today market price for the 5167A, preowned with box & paper around $80K.... And for a brand new one around $92K

What your thoughts.....??

If you have them, pictures always welcome.....

Well I think so, and why not as IMO it’s the best watch in the catalog.

I think it will and more of when rather than if. But I wouldn’t pay that much for one.

The last week has been insane. I noticed that a lot of dealers put their 5167A on Price on Request and this moved the prices on Chrono. I am not sure that there are actual deals at these price points, but I am curious to know. I think this is the last year of production for the 5167A before it is discontinued. I think In the next two years all the Nautilusus and Aqunauts will be in precious metals.

I realise every time the price of Daytona goes up, the price of Nautilus, Aquanaut, Royal Oak, etc, will also go up in varying magnitude.

That said, I have no doubt the 5167 will reach or exceed 100k. It is not too far off now. Once Patek announces discontinuation of this model, the sky is the limit.

I just don't understand why anyone, other than speculative hoarders, would pay $100,000 for a 5167A when there are so many other more exciting options to choose from out there in that price range.

I've been in this game for 2 decades, and I still don't understand this.

it's either people that dont care about money (maybe a few here and there) but mostly dealers trading amongst each other. I guess there are also some that buy it wear it for a month or two and sell it hopefully for a profit (only realistic thing I can think of).

That makes sense.

I really dislike what's become of the watch industry in the past 3-5 years.

I thought you have a SS Aquanaut? This forum has become watch owners turn into day traders

tbh, because it really is the best, most versatile watch in the patek line up. A nautilus is great but it's not really casual. Aquanaut feels super comfy and the watch you would wear the most

Simple and clean dial design, versatile with both factory rubber strap and ss bracelet. Make it most practical patek.

Ooof. It’s getting a little crazy to be honest. Even though it’s my first and only Patek, I am starting to toy with the idea of selling it if it does indeed go over 100k comfortably. I mean I’m not rich rich, but I don’t need the money in particular but … ah screw it. What would I do with the money anyway?

Haha as you can see it’s causing a roller coaster of emotions

Its friggin insane. 5 years ago people wouldn’t pay 15k for it. It’s a nice watch but I’d rather wear a Rolex as my beach watch or a Nautilus. All the watch prices have gone nuts but if the stock market keeps trading like this I am sure there will be blowback on cars watches and wine.

5711 / 5167 / Platona / steel daytona and other popular watches, not so sure. Maybe a slight drop. but i having a hard time seeing 5167st under 50-60k again.
There are not that many aquanauts in the market. and ALOT of people with money always willing to buy.
