Thanks for the thoughts.
For me, there is something about the 36 that looks really well balanced. On dial alone (which is that photo), I think the 36 is the clear winner. But I see most comments focused on wrist size….. Thinking about the overall package, given the all brushed bracelet, the 41 might be the overall better package for someone like me who is 2 meters tall. Make it the yellow one as part of a collection for fun. Quote:

And you are definitely right that the green 41 would be great for you! BTW, it’s your “fault” I even started looking at these due to your idea in a separate thread of a dark blue 41 OP. |

I prefer watches between 36mm & 39mm for dress watches. IMO anything bigger than 40mm is too big for me.

I prefer the 36 for the beveled markers and the relative size of the case V the bracelet ….. to me it’s more as their ally pleasing.
As far as wrist sizes go I’m in agreement….. greater than 7.5/ 41mm….. less than 6.5 / 36mm. The 6.5 to 7.5 crowd gets to choose the sportier look or the dressier sizing ….Save the drama - I’m just here for the photos…. |

The pink 36 certainly isn't small on the wrist shown above. I think a 41 on that wrist would be overwhelming. I have a 6.5" flat wrist and the 36 would be a much better fit for me, but I have no problem with the look of the Submariner 40 mm on my wrist. If I got the call, I'd definitely give the 41 a try.

I have the 36mm green, but I wish I had the 41mm instead. I have approx 7inch wrist

I can confirm the OP41 Silver yellow gold indices are beveled. Not sure about the standard white gold applique on the other references though.
If they aren't beveled on the standard white gold indices that would be interesting. I know the yellow gold applique is unique for the reference so maybe they did a little something extra for it too. It is the reference they marquee on their website and most advertising for the new OP lineup. I think it was supposed to be their halo reference for the new range before the "Tiffany" blue blew up. |

With 7.75" wrists, the 41mm is the only way I'd go.

Funny how it seems like 41 would be "more ideal" but when it comes down to the Explorer 1 39mm it suddenly becomes a bit more controversial and the people rave about the 36mm.

Personally speaking I think it's a real shame the 39mm Explorer was discontinued as I much prefer it over the 36mm, but I never managed to pick one up. |

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see a 39-40-41mm Explorer introduced at some point. Might be waiting on the new Airking case

Pick the one you like
I’d pick 41 as the 41mm wears smaller than you think

I'm pleasantly surprised how the 36 has held its own.
I voted 36! |

As stated above, depends on wrist size, as well as use. I have a 36 DJ that I usually wear for dress or business casual. I have an OP 41 that I wear as more of a sports watch. (7in wrist)

I think they both look great! My wrist size is 6.75 and I prefer to wear 39-44mm depending on the watch. I have a 36mm and I’ll wear it for certain occasions, but I think it looks small.
As I’ve stated many times….the size of the watch looking good, isn’t / shouldn’t be, based on the wrist size alone. There’s too many other factors….general fashion choice, body type, forearm size, in my case…a tattooed hand/arm. I mean….I respect and couldn’t care less if a gentleman wants to wear a 31-36mm pink OP, that’s their prerogative, and more power to them. It would just look kind of odd on me. IMO All personal choices…go with whatever makes you happy! |
