Vacheron Constantin full bracelet stainless steel 4600e

Any feelings on this one? The exact model is 4600E/110A-B487. The movement is definitely the biggest ding but for the price I feel it's a decent full bracelet model with ideal size for most wrists. I don't see this often in store so couldn't try on it.

Is this the VC model that does not have an inhouse caliber?

It uses a Cartier movement, but is still calibrated and fine-tuned by VC and has their own finishing applied. Does not have the "Geneva seal". I think the movement is still quite beautiful and it's a trade-off that makes sense given its entry-level position and relatively affordable pricepoint.

My one regret is that the watch looks too large. 40mm and dress aesthetic. I hear it wears big on wrist. That and the date window is awkward for my liking. So an unfortunate pass.

I had one and I would say that it wears small on wrist, much closer to a 38mm in my opinion.

Was it difficult for you to acquire it? And why did you let it go if you don't mind sharing?

This read can help understand this so called Cartier movement.

Check out the brown dial of FiftySix. It is a very elegant and beautiful dial.

I think it's a fabulous watch. The non-in-house movement doesn't bother me one bit. It's still quality. I've read that the bracelet is top-notch too.

I love the entire fifty six line. I would and someday may opt for the day/date or complete calendar version but that's just personal preference since they would both fit my collection a lot better.

I bought the model on the gator strap and bought the bracelet separately from my AD. Both the watch and bracelet were in stock at my AD when I bought so it was easy to get. I ultimately let it go because I just couldn’t find the right occasions to wear it. It was a little bit too sporty to be a go to dress watch and a bit too dressy to be sporty/everyday for my personal taste. So while I enjoyed it and admired it, I just didn’t find myself wearing it.

The bracelet looks really, really nice.

Just not sure about the date window placement.

VC actually increased the price for this model recently from 13500 to 14800. I’ve heard from my AD that it’s actually a pretty hard piece to come by since no one can get the VCO blue dial. This is their entry level VC and does not have the Geneva seal. Personally I like it a lot.

Does anyone know what Cartier movement it’s based on?

I believe it uses Cartier Caliber 1904PS-MC. It has been used in the Calibre de Cartier, Tank MC, and Cartier de Drive (automatic with subdial for seconds).

VC finishes the watch movement to their standards and gives it a gold rotor.

I like VC and own 2 of their dress watches. Personally, I find the VC 56 sort of bland. I tried one on 2 years ago and its just not the watch for me.

There's an argument for getting this watch, I was going to suggest JLC at this price point but the clincher would be the cartier movement esp in a piece from a holy trinity brand just kinda seems odd to me. Why not consider getting a Cartier

Well they apply a certain finish to the bridges. The overall result is fantastic for the price, but not really to VC standards

I would go for the day date or full calendar. I have both and love them. The case is fantastic.

I agree-the 56 complete calendar is a lovely watch. However, it is twice price of the date model....

The full calendar can still be had below retail, not sure this is the case for this bracelet date only. So in effect, you’re looking at a 6-7k difference, which to me would absolutely worth it.

Well, it was never going to have the finish that one of their more costly watches has. They finished it to the standard they deemed are acceptable to them at this price range. This watch does nothing for me so regardless of what they did with the movement, its not a watch I'd purchase.
