Thinking of engraving my Watch. Do any of you have your engraved? Any recommendations or even pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I have 2 of them that have been engraved. my AD told me on both occasions the case backs are very inexpensive if they need to be replaced also they can be refinished if you didn't want them replaced

That’s good to know! I may track down a replacement case back, engrave that one, and keep the original untouched.

I did, my AD really pushes customers to do it. Less chance of flipping I guess.
I just got my Dads birthday, kinda boring I know. |

Some will say that it will ruin the watch. Most engravings are not deep and can be easily removed and if not a new case back is not a problem.
Sofar I have never had any watch engraved but that is because lack of creativity on my part. I had some other stuff engraved by a hand engraver. Looks so much better than your dime a dozen laser or fixed template engraving and I would go for that.

I only have one engraved watch, my late father’s Omega engraved with his initials and retirement date. I’ve never really thought of doing my own but I am not opposed to it like the “resale value” folks here.

No I don’t engrave my casebacks but I do put on three layers of protective stickers on the back. Can never be too careful am I right?

Interesting. I usually double bag it but maybe I'll give this a try.

I call it TripStick protection. Like the Triplock crown. Give it a try, you won’t be sorry!

my explorer 214270 mk2 and my wifes OP 34 bright blue engraved with our wedding date. I plan to get my pepsi engraved as well. Rolex one of the few watch brands that have casebacks with blank canvas....perfect for engraving

I've always thought of it was a nice touch to get the watch engraved if it's for a gift to someone.
People on here will be along to tell you that it might affect the resale value but back in the day these watches wasn't expected to be resold |

My father engraved his DD before he gave it to me. Just a few words and the date. I cherish it more than no engraving for sure. He's been gone now a long time know I'm a old man.The watch is going to my oldest.

At one time Rolex would engrave the case back for you, they had a special department for this but this was many years ago.Case backs are not real expensive and easy to change if you have case back tool ,which most high street watchmaker's would have.

I have a few watches engraved with “Time waits for no man”. Small reminder that you never know who will take off your boots and to try and enjoy the little things

No issues with engraving a case back. Just finding something to say would be the most difficult thing for me.

I engraved the Sub I gave to my son on his graduation from law school. It was a momentous event for our family and I wanted him to have a lasting tribute of the occasion.

I just picked up a Tudor Pelagos at my AD and they apparently have someone there that engraves for free if purchased there.
I’m going to have my Tudor engraved and also my Rolex once I receive it. I served in the USMC so I’m going to get something military related. A short quote that inspired you, some lyrics from one of your favorite bands, or even a funny saying or nickname. |

Wow!!! This got me emotional, there is nothing nicer than keeping a memory from your loved ones and cherish them forever. I would love to engrave my watch with the DOB of my son, wear it and eventually when I’m an old man pass it on to him. Hopefully I get the AD call for the ref. 126610LN which I think is one of the best timeless references (other than the Daytonas) to pass on for generations to come . I have one engraved for my daughter. I used part of a saying I typically use in hand written cards for her. It states simply, I am truly blessed.

My watches are for my children so I am engraving in all of the watches:
"Check the market price first, asshole" Just kidding, I actually do engrave all of them, depending on what the piece means at the moment of purchase. |
